HR218/LEOSA RETIRED LAW ENFORCEMENT REQUALIFICATION

Course Details

Per the Law Enforcement Officer’s Safety Act (LEOSA) passed by congress under H.R. 218 in 2004, retired officers may carry concealed weapons as long as they meet requalification standards set by any state re qualification course.  We use the Ohio Peace Officers Training Commission (OPOTC) standards.  Individuals seeking requalification must show a retired Law Enforcement ID before qualification.  Currently, all retired officers must qualify annually.  Individuals must bring all handguns they carry (double action revolvers and semi-auto pistols only) and 50 rounds of ammo per handgun, eye and ear protection, and holster(s) in the mode of carry they prefer.

Basically, dress the way you conceal the pistol in public.  This process generally takes one hour and costs $40.00 regardless of how many pistols you bring.
