Harry is a Widower (married 57 years), Father of 4, Grandfather of 13, and Great Grandfather of 12. Harry completed Ohio basic CCW training and soon afterwards began to explore options for becoming certified to share that training with others resulting in an opportunity to certify as a National Rifle Association (NRA) instructor. Some years later, he was introduced to the Second Amendment Foundation Training Division (SAFTD) and it's concept of defensive skills. Harry saw this as an opportunity to reinvigorate his personal skills and student approach. Harry served his country for 33 years (USMC 5, Combat Engineer, USAF 22, Electronics Technician and Education and Training Superintendent, and Federal Civil Service for 11 years managing contact with some 10,000 individual and unit reservists in a multi-state area for the Commander Wright Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB) Ohio). Having successfully owned and operated Harry's Home Improvement for more that 20 years, he determined that it was time to share his love of firearms, shooting and teaching with others. He did so by incorporating Impact Home Defense, LLC and opening IHD Gun Shop where he was able to fulfill a life-long dream. Although due to unfortunate circumstances, IHD Gun Shop was closed early in 2018, he continues to pursue and expand his personal skills and those of his students. A partnership with Surprise Break Firearms Training and it's very capable staff allows him even greater opportunities.
